OUR GROUP

There are many roles that Scouting can play within the community and it can successfully meet many of these roles simultaneously.

We aim to be the pre-eminent youth training organisation in the country, and whilst Scouting may not be for everyone it has a great range of activities, events and undertakings. This range will provide most young people with the challenges that will make their lives interesting, varied and educational.

There is a wide range of challenging activities both within the weekly meetings and on various weekend acrtvities.  Day activites to the city, day bushwalking, weekend camps (and longer), overnght, even multiple night hikes (all age and necessary training appropriate) as well as many other one off activities.  In the younger sections the activites are led by the adults but as our members progress through the Sections they have more and more say and more and more control.

Who We Are

Sefton is a small Scout Group serving the suburbs of Sefton, Chester Hill, Regents Park, Birrong, Berala, Yagoona, Villawood and surrounding areas.  We have been active since the mid 1950's.

The Group offers an active outdoor program supplemented by weekly training meetings at the Group Hall.

What We Offer

Scouting has a challenging award scheme designed to develop the skills, interests and characters of all our members.  There are various standards within the award Scheme so that as a member grows older they are exposed to more detailed aspects of the subject.

Each of our youth sections have some level of self governance appropriate to their age.

The uniform of an Australian Scout is a Navy blue short sleeve polo or button down shirt with a collar.  The Leaders shirts are all blue whitlst each of the Youth Sections have a different colour yoke.  Joeys are orange or brown, Cubs yellow, Scouts green, Venturers maroon and Rovers red.

Above the pocket on the left breast are worn a World Membership Badge and Australian Flag.  The right sleeve is used to display scouting proficiency badges whilst the left displays the badges from each of the award schemes specific to each section.
